Rebgärtle, Bregenz – Holiday House

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to work on a stunning family residence located on the Pfänder in Bregenz.. This house had been unoccupied for quite some time and presented us with a considerable project with its four bedrooms, three bathrooms, dining room, living room, sauna room, kitchen, and a winter garden and small terrace area. Additionally, the house already contained some beautiful furniture, decorative items, books, and carpets. Our challenge was to decide what to preserve and utilize, and what to change. We had to determine what required renovation and what looked perfect in its well-worn state. Our approach was to tackle each room individually. For example, the kitchen, which was in a very good condition, just need a little updating. We exchanged all the door handles to sleek black matte and replaced the kitchen nook table and seating. In the living area, we made the decision not to remove the wooden panels on the walls. Instead, we worked with them, preserving the areas where the sun had naturally weathered the wood as a poignant reminder of its history.
